22.Aug.2012 Web-e-Books offers the first secure, single-format HTML5 online & offline e-reading solution for virtually all browsing devices.

Our History & Mission

Web-e-Books® is now commercially active after 30 months of development. Just look at the number of features we’ve developed (below), in this short time frame that can now be turned into instant benefits for self-published authors and small to medium publishers wishing to license our technology for a branded e-book publishing platform of their own.

From the beginning, we’ve utilized our open-source software-based technology to create and manage the distribution and sale of universal HTML5 browser-based e-books.

Web-e-Books is now a turnkey digital publishing solution that enables distribution of single-format e-books to laptops, tablets, and smart phones by way of a common web-based application.

Publishing’s first secure, HTML5 online & offline browser e-reading for PCs, Tablets & Smartphones

Our approach of using open systems software and addressing the widest array of consumer display electronics – including those based on Apple, Windows, Android, and Linux operating systems – is designed to allow customer-oriented authors and publishers to reach billions of worldwide readers on individual the reader’s terms.

Authors and publishers may utilize our distribution method to reach an explosive growth market for mobile browser-based device types, and with no additional or special e-reader required. Importantly, Web-e-Books® bypasses the proprietary e-reader and e-bookstore, and the proprietary “app” that may have been developed for one operating system or a closed format. Addressing the end-user device through popular browsers, Web-e-Books® offers a universal, cross-platform application interface to the e-book.

Our goal is consumer choice. We believe a reader should be able to read on any device at any time and wherever they are, online or offline, and enjoy quality features like custom, colored e-book covers, standard page numbering, on-screen font selection, eye-saving color-shading, and automatic bookmarking.

We currently offer more publishing technology than e-books, but we are scaling-up plans to offer a select bookstore experience on Web-e-Books.com, and to license our technology as a white-label solution to other publishers or individual authors desiring a self-publishing platform.

Our Next Project – Mobile App Development

Our next project objective is to round-out the entire Web-e-Books presentation and e-publishing service offering by developing a richly featured, visually simplified and elegantly designed mobile app to satisfy the growing market of small form-factor mobile displays. Our plan is described below:

Our Planned Mobile App Design

Mobile App Project Plan

Create an extended Mobile App for Web-e-Books and other HTML5 document publishing utilizing the MIT originated M-Project – a software development tool-set based on open standards respected across all platforms.
This is a significant undertaking that will involve rewriting user interfaces and integrating our current process flows and associated databases, but one that will follow the market growth of mobile computing. Authors and publishers will gain far greater access to those readers wanting to use a single mobile device for all their communications, or for those switching devices on-the-fly. It’s easy and convenient to read Web-e-Books on all your devices because it works the same way across device platforms.

We welcome your titles on Web-e-Books! Grow with us as we make e-reading easy and convenient.
